Special Feature

The unique loop feature distinguishes Surakarta from other ancient board games.  In Surakarta, players can only capture their opponent’s pieces by passing through single or multiple loops and landing on the space occupied by their opponent’s piece.  Players can move pieces horizontally, vertically and diagonally.  Pieces can also move forwards and backwards.  However, players cannot jump over each other’s playing pieces.
